ABOUT THE COMPETITION

This competition covers all HR employees within the Malaysia, Philipines and Singapore Maybank HR Sector. The competition shall require forming of quality & innovative team consisting of 3-6 members. The team is required to select a unique team name & an innovative Quality Goal as the project topic. The selection of goal must be based on S-M-A-R-T concept and must be related to quality & innovation within HR. Each team is encourage to follow the 8 Steps presentation format to generate project findings and to achieve targeted results. All teams will be required to present their project findings in the most innovative way during the final competition day.


OBJECTIVE

  • To meet the challenges in enhancing quality & innovation in HR
  • To enhance the level of Quality and Innovation initiative vis-à-vis contributing to leverage Employee Engagement Index (EEI) and customer centricity (internal & external).
  • To promote high level of employee awareness on HR functionalities & work processes whilst encouraging employee participation in HR related work process
  • To harness employee talent through developing dynamic and strategic HR improvement initiative
  • To promote employee team work environment

Quality Tools & Technique (QTT), Entry Submission

QUALITY TOOLS & TECHNIQUES (QTT)

All teams will use the standard Quality tools (refer handout). Teams are encouraged to be creative & innovative by using the given tools & techniques i.e. using images, colours, graphs, symbols, etc. Briefing on the tools & techniques will be conducted through a separate briefing session for all participating team members.


HOW TO ENTER?

Firstly, form a team 3-6 person & create your own unique team name, next identify an area to improve & select quality goals based on S-M-A-R-T concept(within the scope of competition), then submit team details to Azrul Nizam via email: azrulnizam1@maybank.com.my latest by 21st May 2007

Criteria

Criteria for Goal Selection

S - SPECIFIC - Selection of goals must be focused to a specific area or topic
M - MEASUREABLE - Selection of goals must be measurable and has a tracking as supporting evidence
A - ATTAINABLE - Selection of goals must be achievable. Desired result should not be impossible to obtain
R - REALISTIC - Selection of goal must be based on real problems or issues arising
T - TIMEFRAME - Selection of goals must have a period of evaluation & monitoring for success rate

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How many members can I have in a team?
The team can consist of 3 members.

How long is the competition period?
The competition period is 6 month.
*Final competition date will be held in Jan08. The competition will kick-off in June 2007

Do I have to submit my quality goal selection as entry for the competition?
Yes. The goal title must be submitted to the project committee before kick-off date. Selection of QIT goal must be based on S-M-A-R-T concept. The list of goals will be reviewed & endorsed by Head of Corporate HR.

Is there any periodic follow up? Do I have to submit progress report?
Yes. Follow up is done by the committee with respective team leaders. Teams are not required to submit progress report. They are required to share their progress during the meeting.

What if any member resign from employment or leave the team?
The team must continue to monitor project progress with remaining team members. New team members are encouraged to be replaced accordingly. Evaluation on new team member will be done effective from date of joining the team.

What happens if the team fails to reach the goal before the 6th month period?
The team will be disqualified and required to provide reason of failure.

Does this activity impacts my career?
Yes. It includes briefing, seminar and training. The learning hours will be captured accordingly.
